Thalayan Manuhran is a Sri lankan residing in Canada. Currently working as a Homeopath, he
was previously a medical scribe working for a private RCM company in the heart of Colombo.
Upon completing his studies in a leading private school in Sri lanka, his personal life happened
to take him to the beautiful country of Canada. During his employment in Sri lanka, he enjoyed
solving customer problems which directly impacted the growth of the company. Their growth
brought him joy; this portrays his empathy towards others. His innate ability to empathize with
the circumstances of others stems from his childhood dream of becoming a surgeon. However, as
his paths crossed with alternate medicine whilst seeking a dream in Canada, he now works as a
homeopath and finds satisfaction in providing cures for those in need. ‘A higher pay never
interested me’, is something Manuhran mentioned whilst describing his journey. This was odd as
society today is more about gaining financial stability and living a good life but Mano doesn’t
see it this way. His principles towards his life and his choices are different, what makes him
smile is simple, that is- helping people. It is simple yet significant. He is a grounded individual
who enjoys spending time with family and friends. His memories of fun nostalgic moments keep
him satiated. Mano is someone who is unique as he does not need any external factors in order to
smile, he believes happiness is sought in making the lives of others better. His simplicity extends
to the little things in life, such as homemade food, laughing to himself, simple jokes and
conversations with a few people. It is quite rare to come across someone like him in today’s fast
paced world. In this rush we call life, one does not take the time to smile and be grateful. Yet
Mano finds his way through this web of life by playing his role, always with a smile.
