Malayalam mega film starring legends Mohanlal and Mammootty to be beautifully shot in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka will soon host the filming of a high-profile Malayalam film starring two of its most celebrated actors, Mammootty and Mohanlal. The project, which will see these iconic stars share the screen for the first time in two decades, was confirmed after a meeting between the filmmakers and Sri Lankan authorities.  

Mahesh Narayanan, the filmmaker, confirmed the project while keeping other details under wraps. The film will be shot in Sri Lanka for 30 days, with additional filming set for Kerala, Delhi, and London. The Sri Lankan authorities expressed  

appreciation for choosing the country as a filming location, noting that the project is poised to boost foreign exchange and promote tourism.  

Sri Lanka has previously served as the setting for numerous internationally acclaimed films, such as The Elephant Walk, Tarzan the Apeman, and Bridge on the River Kwai. This new Malayalam film project is expected to further highlight Sri Lanka’s appeal as a desirable filming destination. 

Both Mammootty and Mohanlal have enjoyed illustrious careers, appearing together in over 50 films. Their collaboration always manages to excite audiences, thanks to their remarkable talent and screen presence. Mammootty was last seen in *Turbo*, while Mohanlal is  

preparing for his directorial debut with Barroz, in which he will also star.  

This new film is a testament to Sri Lanka’s growing prominence in the entertainment industry, offering a positive outlook for the nation’s cultural and economic ties with the global film community.
